Commercial Construction Laborer

Ranger Construction Company is a commercial general contractor specializing in upfits, renovations, and maintenance of office, industrial, and medical properties in Charlotte and surrounding areas. Essential Functions:

• Work under the guidance of the General Superintendent, Superintendents and Project Managers
• Provide hands on skills and perform basic carpentry and general labor tasks including
• Cleaning and maintaining construction site by removing hazards materials and debris from the worksite
• Loading and unloading building materials
• Installing cabinets, shelving, adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures
• Assisting craft workers such as carpenters or electricians
• Ensure job site punch lists are completed in a timely manner
• Communicate efficiently between architects, owners, clients, and Project Managers as necessary
• Assist Project Managers and Office Personnel with close-out process on each project
• Make certain all crews and subcontractors comply with safety requirements, building rules and regulations, and company policies
• Manage time on job sites efficiently
• Drive company vehicle safely and responsibly to and from job sites and supply houses

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must understand construction drawings and plans
• Must have valid driver’s license and be able to safely drive company vehicles to and from multiple job sites
• Must successfully complete training to operate skid steers, forklifts, pallet jacks, scissor lifts, and similar equipment
• Capable of using hand tools and power tools
• Must follow company and client policies and procedures
• Capable of clear verbal, written, and electronic communications
• Must take initiative to complete tasks and look for opportunities to assist other employees
• Personable and professional demeanor, works cooperatively, and customer service oriented
• Organized, task oriented, and follows through in a timely manner

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in construction or maintenance related field

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to traverse worksite in different types of weather and bend, climb, stretch, reach, and lean to make inspections
• Must be able to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 50lbs
• Standing and walking at large job sites (interior and exterior) for multiple hours
• Capable of moving and climbing ladders, as well as working comfortably on roofs and elevated surfaces
• Capable of performing physical tasks in areas that are dirty, loud, contain fumes, and/or high temperatures
